ATTENTION Bobcat Academy Families: Beginning March 4, the after school program hours are being adjusted because the regular school day is being extended by 18 minutes. Dinner will be served at 5:25 and students will begin cleaning up/being dismissed to the car rider line/buses at approximately 5:50. As always, if you need to pick up your child early for an activity or event, call the office and your student will be brought to the front of the building. In addition to the extended minutes, there are four (4) snow days the program is required to make up. Those make up dates are March 8, April 5, April 12, and April 19. These days are FUN FRIDAYS with a lot of interactive activities for students to learn from and enjoy!

Go Bobcats! From Coach Whetham: Bobcat Wrestlers had a good weekend at the state tournament. All wrestlers won at least one match with David Moreno winning 3rd place and receiving All State for the second year. Zydon Ballard received the Victory with Honor Award voted on by all the officials throughout the year; a huge honor. Overall a great weekend of wrestling and all these wrestlers are already getting ready for next season.

shout outs
Bobcat Families – After we announced our make up days for weather, the state department of education offered the opportunity to change our calendar to count instructional time rather than instructional on-site days. Therefore, we revamped our calendar, received a supportive vote from our staff and school board of education, and received approval from the state board of education. Our new plan is to add 28 instructional minutes to each day beginning March 4th. If we do not have any more weather day cancellations, our last day of school will be Friday, May 24th. The High School and Middle School will begin at 7:45 with the first bell ringing at 7:41. Late start Monday will begin at 8:20 with the first bell ringing at 8:16. Students will be dismissed each day at 3:24. Elementary and Intermediate School will begin at 8:00 and students will be dismissed at 3:33.

From Mrs. O'Dell (Gifted and Talented) Third and fourth grade quiz bowl students competed in a round-robin tournament at the OUR co-op last Friday. They only won one game, but they learned a lot about quiz bowl. I am very proud of all of them! The pictures were taken during their ‘bye’ round. Big thanks to Andrew Griesenhauer and Ellie Asbury for coming to judge and keep score!

Families and stakeholders are invited to complete this survey regarding the start of the 2024-2025 school year. Districts have the opportunity to begin school on August 12, instead of August 19th. Since we no longer have AMI days for inclement weather, an earlier start date will allow us to get more student days on the front end of the calendar.
